Architect Murat Tabanlıoğlu (RIBA, Int’l Assoc. AIA), a graduate of Vienna University of Technical, is renowned for bridging infrastructure, culture, and public life in award-winning projects across four continents. As the founding partner at Tabanlioglu Architects, established with Hayati Tabanlioglu, he led the practice for 35 years before launching his own architectural studio +MURAT TABANLIOGLU in 2025.

From Istanbul’s Atatürk Cultural Center—a cultural icon reimagined—to the luminous Milas-Bodrum International Airport, Istanbul Sapphire’s skyline-defining presence, and the waterfront revival of Haliç Shipyard, his works are not only architectural feats but experiential narratives. Other award-winning works include Loft Gardens (RIBA International Award 2011), Bodrum Airport (RIBA 2013), Beyazıt State Library (Mies van der Rohe finalist 2017, Aga Khan finalist 2019) Equally invested in curatorial and conceptual thinking, Murat Tabanlıoğlu curated the Turkish Pavilion at the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale (2014) with Places of Memory, and exhibitions like Port City Talks.
